There are eight persons namely P, Q, R, S, T, U, V and W sitting around a circular table, facing the centre but not necessarily in the same order. Each of them is from a different profession, i.e., Accountant, Singer, Business man, Scientist, Cook, Doctor, Engineer and Professor. R and T are immediate neighbours of each other. Neither R nor T is an immediate neighbour of either Q or Doctor. Engineer sits second to the right of S, who is neither Doctor nor Cook.
U sits second to the right of Doctor. Cook is an immediate neighbour of Doctor. Two people sit between Cook and Q. V and Scientists are immediate neighbours of each other. Q is not Scientist. Only one person sits between R and Accountant. W sits third to the left of Business man. Singer sits second to the left of Professor.

Explanation:(1-5)
please explain for this seaating arrangement
ReplyDeleteplease
Hi Fahad,
DeleteI have given tips here
http://www.dreamjobadda.com/2014/11/reasoning-seating-arrangement-shortcuts-tips-examples.html
If you still got doubts then leave a comment here...
i didnt get this question please can u provide the solution step by step
ReplyDeleteHi reet,
DeleteI will update this soon to clear your doubt
Much guesses required.. Like first r and t then doctor and q.. Good problem
ReplyDeleteThere are no guesses to this problem...will explain u the solution
DeleteThis Arrangement seems too abstract. I guess we need some more info on this. Can you publish the explanation ASAP.
ReplyDeletewill give the solution for this problem
ReplyDeleteHi Angel,Stephen,
DeleteI will post explanation pic in an hour please check back again
Initial:
ReplyDeleteDraw a circle with eight empty boxes. And name the empty boxes as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8 ( I am naming them in numbers in anti-clockwise direction just to explain where to place the persons; as I cant draw the circle for each step).
Note: Draw the solution in a paper for each step, otherwise understanding the answer will be difficult
Step 1:
From the question, we can place two persons rightaway, that is Doctor and U.
Q: U sits second to the right of Doctor.
Put Doctor in box 1. (doctor can be placed in any box; but to start, I place him in box 1)
Now U sits second to the right of Doctor,
So, U sits in box 3.
Step 2:
Q: Cook is an immediate neighbor of Doctor. Two people sit between Cook and Q. R and T are immediate neighbours. Neither R nor T is an immediate neighbor of either Q or doctor.
So Cook can sit in box 8 or 2 (cook immediate neighbour of doctor).
If we place cook in box 8, Q must sit in 5 or 3 (as two people must sit between Cook and Q).
Q cant sit in 3 (already U is in 3)
If we put Q in 5, only box to put R and T as immediate neighbors would be box 6 and 7. But neither R nor T is an immediate neighbor of Q. So Q cant sit in box 5.
Hence, Cook sits in box 2.
Now again, try to place Q. (two people sit between cook and Q)
So Q can sit in box 5 or 7.
If we put Q in 5, only box to put R and T as immediate neighbors would be box (6 and 7) or box (7 and 8). But neither R nor T is an immediate neighbor of Q and Doctor. We cant put R and T in 6 and 7 because Q is in 5. And we cant put R ant T in 7 and 8 as Doctor is in 1.
Hence, Q sits in box 7. Now R or T must sit in 5 or 4. (we will solve it later; but mark boxes 5 and 4 for R and T)
Step 3:
Q: Engineer sits second to the right of S, who is neither Doctor nor cook.
Now we will try to sit S.
Solution found till now , Q in box 7, U in box 3 , R or T in box 5 or 4
Doctor in box 1 and Cook in box 2.
S is not Doctor nor cook, Hence S can sit in 6 or 8.
Engineer must sit second to the right of S, if we put S in 8, then we see second to its right(box 2) is already the cook.
Hence, S sits in box 6. Now Engineer sits in box 8
Step 4:
Q: V and Scientists are immediate neighbors of each other. Q is not scientist.
Solution found till now, Q in box 7, U in box 3 , R or T in box 5 or 4, S in box 6
Doctor in box 1, Cook in box 2, Engineer in box 8.
V can sit in 8 or 1 or 2.
V can’t sit in box 8. Because its immediate neighbours are doctor and Q (but Q is not scientist)
V can’t sit in box 1. Because its immediate neighbours are doctor and cook.
Hence, V sits in box 2 and is a cook; his immediate neighbor U in box 3 is a Scientist.
Step 5:
Q: W sits third to the left of business man
Solution found till now, Q – box 7, S – box 6, V- box 2,U-box 3 , R or T in box 5 or 4
Only boxes with no person is box 1 and 8. Hence, W can be in 1 or 8.
W can’t be in box 8, as U who is the scientist is in box 3.( W must be third to the left of businessman.)
Hence, W sits in box 1 and Businessman sits in box 4.
Step 6:
Q:Singer sits second to the left of Professor.
Now, boxes with no professions are box 5,6 and 7
Professor can’t sit in box 5, as second to its left would be U the scientist.
Professor can’t sit in box 6, as second to its left would be Businessman.
Hence Professor sits in box 7 and Singer sits in box 5.
Step 7:
Q:Only one person sits between R and Accountant.
Only box with no profession is box 6.
Hence Accountant sits in box 6 and R sits in box 4 (as one person must sit between R and Accountant).
As R sits in box 4, we now know T sits in box 5.
Step 8:
Only box with no person is box 8. We have placed all other persons.
Hence P sits in box 8.
Final Solution
Box – Person – Profession
1 – W – Doctor
2 – V – Cook
3 – U – Scientist
4 – R – Businessman
5 – T – Singer
6 – S – Accountant
7 – Q – Professor
8 – P -Engineer
Wow Angel...
DeleteThanks alot for your effort..._/\_
You are the first who gave an explanation for the doubt raised by another aspirant...
My request is to please keep up the good work and All the very Best to you also
Thanks again...
It's my pleasure ! Thank You :)
DeleteTip: Marking the Left and Right for each person box with small notations "L" and "R", will be very easy to solve the problem. As we dont have to think of left & right everytime in our mind.
DeleteWat an explanation :) Thanxx a lot :)

Deletemam plz provide the material of family based blood relation chapter
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteYou mean blood relations concept?
If it is follow the below link
http://www.dreamjobadda.com/2014/11/reasoning-blood-relations-topic-explained-examples.html
Hello Sir.
ReplyDeleteThis is very good notes for reaoning...
hello angel stephen very nice explination
ReplyDeletebut why did'nt you start this problem using R&T first.why you've used doctot and u statement first. please clear my doubt
Hi Harsha,
DeleteI started with Doctor and U, because many other statements in the question had relations to doctor and U.
In this question you can the relations are:
U-doctor; cook-doctor;cook-Q;Q not scientist; R and T-Q or Doctor; Engineer-not a cook or doctor
Hence started with Doctor;
Always read the question completely at first. You will be able to spot atleast two persons related to many others. and thats where you start.
very good explanation...pls keep on ur good work...
Deletequestion is good for practise but such a high level is not tested in either CLERK OR PO exam. Frequently tested - 2 people faces centre, rest face outside or double arrangement with profession (but not very high level)
ReplyDeleteawesome explanation thanks a lot
ReplyDeleteAwesome admin
ReplyDeleteThanks Sakthi
DeleteHi,
ReplyDeletedreamjob Adda plz explain this question step by step..
Guys solve these kindof q in linear method..it s so easy..and practise a lot
ReplyDeleteP, Q, R, S, T, V, X and Y are seated in a straight line facing North. P sits fourth to the left of V. V sits either sixth from the left end of the line or fourth from the right end of the line. S sits second to the right of R. R is not an immediate neighbour of V. T and Q are immediate neighbours of each other but neither T nor Q sits at extreme ends of the line. Only one person sits between T and X. X does not sit at the extreme end of the line.
ReplyDeletecan any one pls explain me???????????
S P R Q T V X Y
DeleteThank you very much Angel Stephen..
ReplyDeleteAfter this i got some idea and confident to solve seating arrangement..
kindly post like this high level seating arrangements.
while solving seating ,puzzle in exam i got very nervous..
